The most ambitious project of The Friends of the Grenouillère is the gradual rehabilitation of the Grenouillere establishment in its initial location on the Grenouillère Island, in order to permanently preserve this heritage and to enliven it with seasonal tourist activities and major cultural events.
In 1996,the Croissy municipality assigned to the association the role of "assistant works project manager" to carry out a feasibility study on reconstructing this classified site.
Since then the progressive reconstruction of the site has been undertaken; the exact location has been identified with a gateway and wellcoming sign, whilst the first rows of an open theatre facing the Seine are currently underway and the circular "camembert" has been reconstructed.
Still to be completed are the two landing stages, one fixed on the Croissy side to ferry people across, the other moveable on the Marly arm of the island for summer boating events.
Finally, depending on authorisations, financing and seasonal use depending on expected demand, will be the reconstruction of a floating music-hall café.
